Club Champions Reign Supreme Mike Jones and Alex Webb successfully defended their singles crowns at the 2008 Usk Tennis Club Tournament. Mike defeated Craig Jones in 3 tight sets, while Alex overcame Ros Hawke by the same margin. The finals Sunday was played out in brilliant sunshine with a fantastic crowd creating an atmosphere the Davis Cup tie at Wimbledon failed to produce! In the ladies' doubles, Hilary Barton and Angela Seymour beat Caroline Mitchell and Alex Webb while in the men's event Simon Quality Street and Jonny English edged Mike Jones and the ever improving junior Pat Rodden in two very close fought sets. The mixed doubles final, as always the closing show piece of the tournament, saw Anglea Seymour team up with Neil Williams, one of the men's league players of the year, to become victorious against Mandy Davis and Rhodri 'Rocky' Phillips.
