Mixed fortunes for Usk
In a complete reversal of fortunes from the previous weekend, the first team were thrashed by 10 wickets at neighbours Croesyceiliog, whilst the seconds won by 9 wickets against Chepstow.

Usk gain revenge on holders Newport in cup
On a hot weekend in South Wales, Usk first team had a weekend to remember as they thrashed Blackwood in the league on Saturday before eliminating local rivals from the Welsh Cup on Sunday. In contrast the second team had a day to forget as they were beaten heavily in Blackwood, although on Sunday the third eleven restored some pride with a friendly victory away to Llanvapley.

TWENTY 20 FESTIVAL ON SUNDAY 12 JULY

We are the Usk Cricket Club, a friendly and ambitious club, with a picturesque ground set in the heart of the Monmouthshire Countryside. The Welsh Cup winners and Macey Cup Runners-Up in 2007, our 1st and 2nd XIs play in their respective Premier Divisions of the Thomas Carroll South Wales Cricket League. We also run a 3rd XI, who plays every Sunday, for those who would prefer a more sociable game. As an inclusive and modern club we also run junior teams, age groups: U-9s to U-15s for both boys and girls, and since 2007 have started up a women’s team. We also have qualified coaches who run training sessions for all our players. We are always looking for new members and as a club with an active social set up, we will be running events throughout the summer for all-comers to enjoy.
So whether you see yourself as the next big thing, are looking for an excuse to dust off the whites or just want to watch the play with a pint or a pimms, why not come along to the Usk CC.
