With the firsts' match abandoned because of a waterlogged pitch at the Sports village, all eyes switched to the seconds and their crucial match at home to Newport.
Despite the poor weather and mixed fortunes for the senior teams, the main success story as far as Usk Cricket Club is concerned are the table topping exploits of both U-11 teams.
Because of the nationwide flooding last weekend, Usk's fixtures were called off.
The spectacular sight of Usk's Ground under water was enough to make the National News, and our very own Tony Kear could be heard describing the situation on air. The good news was that no damage was done to the ground or any of the equipment.
