Usk get knocked out of Macey Cup

Usk Cricket Club’s weekend began on Friday evening with the 1st XI travelling down to Spitty to take on Newport in the Quarter Finals of the Macey Cup. Last season’s finalists contested a hard fought game with Newport running out winners by 15 runs.

Usk 2nds denied by the weather

With the 1st XI’s game away to Tondu being abandoned on Saturday, focus switched to the 2nd XI’s fixture at home to Miskin Manor. Usk looked set for a comprehensive victory, but adverse weather came to the visitor’s rescue.

Barrett's brilliance in vain as Thirds lose to Ponthir

On Sunday the 3rd XI played only their second match of the season. On a beautiful, sunny day at the Athletic club ground they lost by 6 wickets to a powerful Ponthir side.

Jones on form as Usk enjoy double success

On Saturday Usk enjoyed a winning draw at home to Newport in the league. They followed this on the Sunday with a third round Welsh Cup victory at home to Panteg.
