Disastrous weekend for Usk

Usk had a weekend to forget as all three sides succumbed to heavy defeats. The firsts and seconds lost to their respective Cardiff counterparts on Saturday, whilst the thirds lost out to Rogerstone in a friendly on Sunday.

Birrell heroics in vain as Usk miss out in Twenty20

A busy of weekend of cricket for Usk has eventually ended in disappointment. On Wednesday, Usk beat Cardiff to move into the league final of the National Twenty20 competition. On Saturday, Usk then secured a winning draw at home to Sudbrook. On Sunday at league finals day in Spytty, Usk beat Penarth in their semi, before losing out to Sully in the final. This means that it will be Sully and not Usk who will be heading for the Area final at the Athletic Club Ground, Usk for 30 August.
