More mixed fortunes for Usk
Usk’s weekend got off to a poor start on Friday evening, when they were eliminated from the Macey Cup at the first hurdle, away to Chepstow. However, the first team bounced back on Saturday by beating Cardiff, whilst the seconds lost out narrowly to the same opponents. On Sunday, an Usk 3rd XI then won a last ball thriller in the home friendly match against Ystrad Fellte.

Usk teams in thrillers
On Saturday Usk first team lost their first match of the season away to Sudbrook by 2 wickets, whilst the seconds beat the same opponents back in Usk by the same margin. On Sunday Usk’s firsts travelled to Pentyrch in second round of the Welsh Cup, thrashing their opponents by 9 wickets, whilst back at the Athletic Club Ground a youthful Sunday side beat comfortably beat Dinas Powys by 100 runs.

Mixed fortunes and weather for Usk
On a weekend of heavy showers across the country Usk’s first team match against Newport was abandoned after only 20.3 overs, whilst the second team suffered their first defeat of the season away to the same opponents. As for Sunday’s friendly at home to Croesyceiliog, this was abandoned before a ball could be bowled.

Usk experience another weekend of success
On Saturday Usk’s first and second teams took on their respective counterparts from Tondu. Both ended up comfortable victors. On Sunday Usk’s friendly team were also winners against neighbours Monkswood.
